Name the research summary series…win a prize!!
Upon completion of participant enrollment later this fall, PARTNRS will launch an effort to communicate findings to its audiences, including participants, clinicians, community organizations, researchers, etc. PARTNRS will publish new research summaries as a part of this effort, geared toward participants, community agencies, and the general public. Here’s a little teaser of what our summaries will look like:

We polled our participants to see what they want to hear about and now we need YOUR HELP in naming our series of research summaries!! You might have just the catchy phrase or alliteration to catch our readers’ attention!
Send in your suggestions for the ongoing title of these research summaries to anna.arnold@yale.edu. The winner will receive a little gift from Dr. Kershaw himself!

We’re winding down the month here at PARTNRS with a fantastic Friday. We had a busy day today in the office with the PARTNRS team hosting 9 interviews of new parents. July was also one of our busiest months ever, conducting a whopping 52 interviews! This is just another reason why we love our PARTNRS Parents!
August–Here we come!

At PARTNRS, we are always welcoming new contributors to the project in an effort to bring in new thoughts, ideas and energy toward our effort to strengthen families and prevent the spread of HIV and STIs. We are also grateful for the previous contributions of many who have since moved on to wonderful positions and places, as they have helped make PARTNRS into what it is today. We have contributors that have moved on to places like SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention Data Analysis Coordination and Consolidation Center, Harvard Medical School, a Physician’s Assistant program, a Yale Faculty appointment, etc. Check out our updated Research Team page to learn more about the current team and where previous contributors are now! The Fair Haven Community Health Center has been a nonprofit organization since 1971, serving the New Haven community. The health center is comprised of numerous physicians and nurse practitioners that are eager to serve the healthcare needs of their patients. Their goal is “to serve the community in a manner that respects their culture, language and ethnic beliefs. “ When they use the term community, they imply from the littlest child to the oldest elder. Everyone is welcomed to the Fair Haven Community Health Center. Adults can receive checkups, physical exams, cancer screening, as well as chronic disease screenings. Specialists are also available for patients. FHCHC especially encourages adolescents to visit for all their health needs.
FHCHC also provides extensive prenatal care, including prenatal visits, delivery by the midwife at the Hospital of St. Raphael, a home visit by a midwife after the delivery, and post-partum care. Social services are also available to help patients with housing, personal, and financial problems. FHCHC also administers STD testing. The Fair Haven Community Health Center main site is open Monday through Thursday 8:45 AM to 8:30 AM. The Friday schedule is 1:00P M to 5:00 PM. For more information in regarding the center, log onto www.fhchc.org!
Here at PARTNRS, we’d like to thank FHCHC for providing young couples and families in New Haven with affordable health services, and for contributing to the fight against STDs and HIV!
